"Gracie" - little girl: Hailey

An amazing attachment has formed between our community education dog, Jager a 109 pound Blue German Shepard Dog and Gracie. We go most commonly to talk to groups of school kids, 4H, and church groups. We try to educate the children first about disabilities and the children in their schools and community with disabilities and also about service dogs and the kids we place them with. Gracie has become a welcome addition to our community education program. When we take Gracie the children think she is cool, WOW, they tell us, she can GO on three legs as she races around the room . We talk to them about Gracie and work in discussion about disable kids, most specifically the ones that go to their schools. We are able to ask them why they think Gracie is so cool but go out of their way to avoid and even taunt the disable children. It is a real eye opener! Then for them to see Gracie and Jasper together is a real hoot! All enjoy petting both dogs at the end. She has a way of knowing which kids need her. Most recently we had a child almost 6 years old but looking very much three years who was nervous about dogs. She was sitting down and Gracie ran to her and laid down between her legs and rested her head against the little girl who smiled ear to ear. Well, Hailey has her own service dog now. Ken Mar Point To Prove Party -"Loki"

About 3 weeks ago, I noticed little bumps on my arm, down by my wrist, that went up the vein. I told my husband about it, and he said not to worry about it, it was probably just scar tissue from the IV's I've had. So I went on not thinking anything more about it. But then a week ago, my little Papillon "Loki" started sniffing it, and licking it as if I was hurt. There was nothing visual for him to see anything but yet he still persisted with it. Well, because of all the cancer sniffing dogs you hear about, I decided to get it checked by a doctor afterall. I told the doctor about how my new Papillon puppy kept sniffing at my wrist to the point where I thought I should seek a medical opinion. The doctor said that it was a REAL good thing that I came in. She said that it was NOT scar tissue, but it was a blood clot. The odd thing is that when I came up with Loki's registered name I never would've guessed that somehow that name would have this kind of a meaning. Loki DID prove his point to me, that he was meant to be in my life ~ A GIFT FROM GOD HIMSELF! All I can say is, "Thank you Carolyn, for giving me this puppy that may very well have saved my life! How I came about meeting you and you being willing to sell me one of your precious babies,is all a MIRACLE to me ~ thank you"...
